T rmcipafs Acfcfress fhe standards have been met; the goals accomplished. For this you have the right to pride and are deserving of praise. Your return will be in proportion to your effort and direction, as will be true of each challenge faced, large or small, as an individual or as a member of the human race. It is always a time of mixed feelings for a teacher to watch a class pass on to whatever may be. One cannot see, feel, hope along with others without responding with happi- ness and pride in this, their achievement. There is also a feeling of nostalgia at the passing of a close association. With the Class of 1962, I bid such a farewell, adding my strong confidence in your ability and faith in the quality of your purpose. Society needs your idealism, your strength, and your knowledge. It needs to have protection for those things which have proven of value for individual growth and group cooperation. It has scars that need to be healed, and there are defects that need to be eliminated. Change is continuous. It is up to you to give it direction and character. I, therefore charge you to think, using the capacity of judgment and the searching out of fact needed in the construction of truth. . . to respect your judgments, intelligently formed, and protect the judgments of others, letting neither strike down the otter except through honest con- version. . . to develop the attribute of a self-less love, realizing the responsibility we have one for the other. . . to be true to ourselves in evaluating our motives and acts, gaining self-respect that will give us the re- gard of others.

c Sen or !cfdress The class of 1962 is moving into the world of responsibility. In the past four years, we have worked hard, had our fun, and now accept our rank as adults. We hope to give back to society the greatness and potential that the faith and trust of our parents, teachers, and friends have built within us. For the underclassmen, we hope that our example will be considered honorable and worthy of being fol- lowed. Bruce Stryhas, President '62 Ji un or 7 espouse Members of the graduating class of 1962, in your four years at Black River, you have established a solid foundation for your future endeavors. As each of you steps into the challenging destinies of a new and different life, your success appears to be inevit- able. We, the class of 1963, sincerely hope that you will reach your goals and obtain true happiness. We have spent our first three years of high school in the friendly atmosphere you have created. Now, as you prepare to leave, we think of the many lessons you have taught us. Even as we shall never forget you, we shall likewise always remember them. We thank you for everything you have done for us. It has been a real pleasure to know you. Charles Bostock President '63
