Now we hope you won’t be so nervous. One day I climbed on my magic carpet, determined to sail around the world and find my classmates, whom I hadn't seen for many years. Starting my trip in Ludlow, I first saw Carol and Joan, the inseparable twins. They still smoke, drink, and chase men. They're a little slower at catching them but not so you'd notice it. Leaving Ludlow, 1 continued on to Gassett's where I found a new restaurant: Dot's Do Or Die Restaurant. Her main dish is called: ''Quick Death. Flying over England, I noticed a crowd of people. Flying lower, I found that Allan was being crowned King of England. I always thought Allan would get big someday. Continuing on to Rome, I found Jane modeling a bathing suit. As a pastime, she is a cheer- leader for the Roman Chariot Races. Over Norway, I noticed a streak moving swiftly through the snow. Upon investigating I dis- covered Ed was leading the U.S. skiers to win the Olympics. Dave heard a lot about the milk maids so he moved his dairy to Switzerland. He is now running the Bryant and Family Cheese Factory. Bredo has graduated from the German University, and is now trying to revive the Romantic Languages. Everything was in a flutter when I arrived in China. It seems that Joss” made 100 points in a basketball game last night. He is playing with the Boston Globe Trotters. He will open a School of Chopsticks strictly for girls when he gets back home. A strange sight greeted my eyes in Russia. George is touring the countryside selling the new streamlined 1999 Chevies, a gas pedal, and a steering wheeL Sugie has opened a home for homeless men in Australia. She has quite a business. While flying over the Sahara Desert, I noticed a lonely little building in die middle of nowhere. Deciding to find out what it was, 1 landed my carpet. There was Tate making a very profitable business of operating a refueling garage for camels. Sylvia is teaching Home Economics to the cannibals in Africa. They say she could make a very tasty dish. As I flew over Hawaii, it was necessary to stop for lunch. Immediately after lunch, I joined a large, noisy crowd. While pushing my way to the center, I found Rich. He is growing flowers and selling them to the hula girls. Upon reaching the middle of the crowd, I discovered our little Charleen dancing the hula with the best of them. Sandy, the old maid of the class, is living in the dark interior of Brazil. She never could get the man she wanted; and when she finally decided to take the man she could get, she couldn't even get him. Down in Peru I came upon Eben trying to find a way to make gold. So far he has come up against one great obstacle: It just ain't possible. Tim is a millionaire motion-picture producer in Hollywood. He got his start by winning a contest entitled: 'What Marilyn Monroe's Got That I Haven’t Got. A new movie is coming out starring Bruce Oliver. It is entitled: Tve Got All The Money In The World. So that’s where our treasury money went! On my way to Alaska, I turned on my radio. The Portland, Oregon radio network announced that singer, Glenn Bryant, the dream of every American girl, had suddenly lost his voice. It is reported that a dire catastrophe has hit America. Upon landing in Alaska, I heard much talk about Miss Benham of Ludlow. I looked her up and found Molly, our class athlete, had become a gym teacher. She went to Alaska because she heard there are more men there than women. Buzz is a Colonel in the Seventh Army stationed in Greenland. As a sideline, he sells pills: ’’When you're sick, take Buzz and buzz well. On the way home 1 found Barb on a little ranch in Colorado. She is raising white mice for a fur coat. Rollie is running the Last National Store in Miami. 1 always thought he'd end the business. Janice has 11 children and believes in the saying: Cheaper by the Dozen. She is working in Rockefeller’s office to help support them. Vandy is now operating on a large scale in the corn field. He is making Moon Shine up in the hidden peaks of Okemo Mountain. Mr. Pullinen is now making history. He is the first U.S. Ambassador to the moon. Suddenly my magic carpet falls to the ground. I wake up from a very eventful trip, tired but confident of the future. Senio s4ctcOie4 We, the Class of '57, having completed out high school education, must now bid our underclassmen a fond adieu. Our hearts are filled with mixed emotions. Yes, mixed because we are curiously happy to face the wide, wide world; meeting the challenges being hurled at us, and sorrowfully leaving behind us our friends, faculty, and the school spirit of Black River. We wish to thank each and every person in the town of Ludlow- parents, friends, teachers, and the Board of Education for making possible our education upon which we shall base our plans for the future. We thank God that we are Americans, living in Ludlow U.S.A. with peace, liberty, and justice for all. We leave to the Class of '58 wishes for success in school, and hope that you will gain as much from it as we have. (funio e fionoe We, the Class of '58, feel great regret to see you, the Class of '57, leave behind your loving school years.
