STAI-IL Dean of Instruction, Fred Stahl, coordinates all of the East Campus a c a d e mi c programs in c lu d i n g university parallel, occupational, and adult education. I-ie serve s on Curriculum, Merit Bonus, Bicentennial, Tenure, Pro m o tio n Review, and Faculty Evaluation committees. Mr. Stahl received his B.S. and M.S. at Illinois State Univ e r sity and has done additional work at the University of Illinois, Western Illinois University, and Nova University. I-Ie has taught English and Philosophy at B. H. E. Among his c om munity service activities, Mr. Stahl lists Rotary Club and co-chairperson of the K ew an e e Bicentennial Committee. He enjoys his dogs and gardening. DeCABOOTER Dr. DeCabooter, the Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Provost of the East Campus, is responsible for the formulation of policies, their recom- mendation to the President, and their implementation after Board approval. For all East Campus Programs he directs planning and coordinates the neces- sary faculty, staff, facilities, supplies, and equipment for each. I-Ie serves on a number of campus and district councils and committees, and this year he also supervises the campus newspaper. His educ ation included an A. A. from St. Gregory's Junior College in Shawnee, Oklahoma, a B. A. fro m St. John's Univ e rsit y in Congerville, Minnesota, and an M. S. Ed. and Ed. D. from Indiana University in Blooming- ton. Before coming to B. I-LE., he held administrative positions at St. Gregory's Junior College and Indiana University. w DAVID LAPAN Dave Lapan, Athletic Director, coaches b asketb all and coordinates intramural activities among o th er responsibilities. lvlr. Lapan received his B. S. and M.S. both at Illinois State University and has done additional work at Southern Illinois University QEdwardsvilleQ and Eastern Illinois University. Before coming to B.I-I. E. , Mr. Lapan, among other things, taught at La k e l a n d College, w a s a Director o f Playgrounds and Little League, and w a s an assistant golf pro. Mr. Lapan lists tennis, racquetball, and running among his hobbies. Dave and his wife, Rita, fwho helps with B.l-I. E. 's Nursing Programj have three children. KATHIE DRISCOLL Assistant Instructor, Kathie Driscoll, te aches Readi-ng 103, trains tutors, and sup e rvis e s the R e a di n g and Study Skills Center. She serves as chairperson of the Special Events Committee. Mrs. Driscoll received her B. A. in Education and M. S. in Reading from Western Illinois University. She has worked as a Title I Re ading Aid and as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Iowa Re a ding Center before coming to B.H. E. Her two daughters fill any spare time Ms. Driscoll has. S. from Illinois State University and her M. S. from Western Illinois University. Before joining the B.I-I.E. staff, Connie taught high school English. Music and reading are among Connie's interests. RICH WARNER Rich Warner, Counselor and Coordinator of Student Activi- ties, teaches Human Po t enti al, coaches the Sweathogs, and sup e rvi s e s such things as testing, placement, a n d veterans' affairs. Also, he has served on the Curriculum and Special Events Committees and is advisor for the Student S en ate and other student organizations as requested. Rich ' s background includes a B.A. in Psychology and an M. S. in Education from Northern Illinois University and the position of C o o r din a to r of Veterans' Affairs at Kishwaukee College before coming to B.H.E. Mr. Warner enjoys sports and photography.
