Gust E. Lundberg. It is our belief that Nlr. Lundberg stands first among the many concerned individuals who helped to make Black Hawk East College a reality. Without him and his work on behalf of the college, it might never have existed at all, save as an idea. With his insight, his awareness, his concern, and his constant help, Black Hawk East has begun to realize the tremendous potent- ialities that it alone can fulfill. Thus, to Nlr. Gust E. Lundberg, as a measure of our gratitude, respect, and esteem, we dedicate our efforts as recorded in this endeavor. :Wg 'SH xWYfVwNxN QS SQ N - N N n ,SW W 1. XZ: FIM X Rf V Si falgaff Qi? Enrollment jumped from 22 to 55 students. The general objective of classroom theory implemented with prac- tical, on-the-job experience was well achieved. The future of the agriculture programs at Black Hawk East College looks bright as an Agriculture transfer program was added to the Agriculture curriculum for 1969-1970 and the Advisory Committee met to determine the feasibility of an Agricultural Mechanics program. DELCINE DANIELS BETH BEAUPREZ MARY JOHNSTON Collegiate athletic activities at Black Hawk East were limited almost exclusively to basketball during the 1968-1969 season. The season was a disappointing one for Coach Jack lVlilam, as he and his players lost all but one game to superior junior college teams in Illinois. Despite the losing season, morale and desire on the team seemed to grow, as several members showed considerable improvement and potential for next season. The greatest moment of the season occurred when the lowly Warriors faced powerful, rated Lincoln College in the sectional at Carthage. The Warriors lost by a few points after giving Lincoln the battle and the scare of its life. Inspired by this display of ability, desire, and perserverance, Warrior mentor Jack Milam looked forward more hopefully toward a third season. Xl QL A . W 'ff ll r ,I 'll 1 , 'Q' I X :N XM' X? A proliferation of all school and club activities were held throughout the year and were well attended and received by students and faculty alike. Freshman began and sophomores returned to the academic year by undergoing the arduous process of registration at the college gymnasium. Following registration, an orientation meeting and all school mixer was held. The opening activities of the first week were climaxed with Hell Week a series of sophomore planned activities for the enjoyment and edification of the freshman students. As the year progressed, Student Senate elections were held with Richard Doty being elected as the second Student Senate president on a campaign platform of activism and relevance for students and faculty alike. In November the Psychology Club held a Sadie Hawkins Dance which was well attended by students and faculty of the college and highlighted by the inner faculty marriages which took place during inter- mission. The climax of the first semester saw the sponsorship of the first annual Homecoming Dance at Waunee Farms. During the second semester one of the most fruitful activities was Senior Day a period of intro duction and orientation for area high school students. The year climaxed with Black Hawk East's first graduation, the last activity in a year of firsts. ,i 5 fi . C YR Ev A Q.
