Elenor OC ulna Ann T Sally Ann Rose Ann Mary R MQ? ll wh 'ii aye Class ffsfory We started our Freshman year on September l, 1955 being split up as the boys were in the shop with Mr. Podlesny as their advisor and the girls were in the Home Economics room with Miss Schragen as their advisor. The class with 12 boys and 11 girls chose as their Freshman class officers the following: President, Alice Marcinkog Vice-President, Gayle Ulshaferg Secretary, Mary Ann Tomko, and Treas- urer, Steven Gudich. The class chose its colors Green and White and also elected Joseph Manjone as their permanent Historian. The class was well represented in sports, other activities, and also took part in many assemblies. As we started our Sophomore year we changed rooms and also advisors. We were moved together in Room 6 under the auspices of' Mr. Magill who also served as principal at this time. In one year we had lost a few boys and picked up two girls so we en- tered our Sophomore year with 13 girls and nine boys but although the boys were outvoted the officers elected were all boys and they were: President, John Fooseg Vice-President, Louis Bertoldig Secretary, Ed- die Widitz, and Treasurer, Steven Gudich. We were initiated in October by the Juniors, knowing that next year it would be our turn. ln electing a class Prince and Princess for the first time we placed the honors on Eddie Widitz and Alice Marcinko. Our Sophomore year was filled with fun and hard study- ing. Again, we were well represented in sports and activities. We started our Junior year with another change and this was a new advisor in the person of Mr. Stein who took over as principal when Mr. Magill re- signed. We started out with 13 girls and eight boys but before the first semester was over we were down to just five boys. Our first business of the year was to elect officers and they were: President, Alice Mar- cinkog Vice-President, Eleanor Schieferg Secretary, 1' Linda Woodring, and Treasurer, John Foose. In Oc- tober we initiated the Sophomores and also purchased our class rings. Around this time we also chose our Prince and Princess who vfere Eddie Widitz and Peggy Hart. We held a Bingo and Dance in order to make money and they were both very successful. As May rolled around the biggest event in our Junior year took place and that was the Junior Prom. We chose Moonlight and Roses as our theme and had the Gabe Flint Orchestra playing the music. This event was enjoyed by all who attended. As June came school was ended and just think only one more year. Yip-ee! Under the leadership of Mr. Mehalick, we entered our Senior year. We knew this was our busiest year of high school. Plays, dances, bingos, and gradua- tion exercises all confronted us. In May, our class officers and yearbook staff were decided upon. Gayle Ulshafer was chosen class President and Editor- in-Chief of the yearbook. John Foose was chosen Vice-President, Secretary, Peggy Hart, and Treasurer, Linda Woodring. Our first play Calling All Girls was presented in October. Everyone enjoyed it very much and we had loads of fun, also. Our dances and bingo were very successful. At our Snow Dance in January, Eddie Widitz and Gayle Ulshafer were crowned Mr. and Miss High School. We still have a bingo and class play yet, but the end will be our graduation exercises at the end of May. In closing, we want to express our appreciation to everyone re- sponsible for our joyous years at B.C.T.H.S. We want to thank you sincerely. The enfor Class ass Prop ecy The date is May 28, 2009, and the plaee is just outside the pearly gates of Heaven. This is a very special day, for it is just fifty years ago that the Class of 59 graduated from Black Creek Township High School. Today they are once again together, and as they took the big step fifty years ago they are now taking a bigger one. As each enters through the gates and into Heaven, his name is checked on a large list. now. Both became Dental Hygienists. Linda Woodring, Mary Reitmeyer, and Alice Ulshafer, were private secre- taries for the heads of large corporations. Gayle Ulshafer, the senior who always liked music, formed her own band. lflenor Schiefer, the best student in bookkeeping, was the head of the bookkeeping department of a large chain store. Ifddie XY'iditz also realized his dream for he was a coach at one of the large colleges.
