V CLASSES Saphamoau Waevihmen Alf lb' GA144 Gjfweu, Zllawea, Mafia anf Gafaad Preszderzt Berdme Logar Vue Preszde L Jame Wright Secretary June 'l urnbach Treasurer Rosemiry Bishop Class Flower Gardcmu Class Motto In Unzty Lhere zs .Strength Class Colors Cherry Red and Whzte 01644 Jfldlaaq On August all 194 J we as 1 lixely group of fre hmen started on a very important ind happy Journey which was to las' four years The fir t few weeks were spent 1n great effort to adlust ourselves to the new routine of studies and environment We quickly fell in line though with the help of our upper classmates and the constant guidanc of our new teachers After spending a few weeks getting acquainted vxlth the mem bers of our class we held our first class meeting At this meeting we under the supervision of Mlss Hart organized our class by elect mg officers The following, were chosen President Carl Rittenhouse Vice President Allen Jones, Secretary Michael Lawrence, and Treas urer James McGlynn We selected cherry red 'Ind white as our class colors and the gardenla as our class Hower Later on in the term we also purchased attractive cl ass pins In October we were the guests Of the Sophomoie class at a Vlctory Party Every one had a Jolly t1me especially we freshmen who as a part of our 1n1t1at1on were required to perform some stunt in front of the student body As we became accustomed to our High School life many of us could be found participating in the Pep Club on the b rsketball team on the J V cheerleading squad as well as in other actrvities In the fall of 44 we again returned but this time as proud Sophomores. We were disappointed though to find th at some of our former classmate' had dropped out. This year we re-elected the same oHiccrs as we had in the pre- vious year and made plans for aa initiation party that was to be held on Friday the 13 in honor of the new Freshmen Class. We entitled it a Good Luck Party . This affair was well attended fnd enjoyed by the student body and members of the faculty. During this term we were sorry to lose our Science and Physical Education teacher Mr. Tolotti who was called to the service in February. 61644 alfdlaaq can! naecf When we be fan our Junror year we found our faculty had been d pleted Mlsg Landrs our commercral teacher had resrgned and Jorned the Red Cross Servrce It was not untll October that her posrtron was filled by Mrss Recla who had been substrtutrng at Rrngtown Another vac rncy ev rsted that of coach Mr Bertoldr who had been coachrng rn Mr Ansbach s absence had jolned the servrce As trme for basketball se lson approached and no coach was avarlable Mr Schnerder our prrncrpal and hrs son Eddre a former basketb 1ll star took over the Job and produced one of the best teams our school ever h ad Thrs ye rr the boys stepped aslde rn favor of the grrls and class officers chosen were Presrdent Anetta Knelly Vrce Presrdent Ruth Donar Secre tary Mary Jane Chyko and Treasu er Valerra Martrnr Thrs term was to be 1 very happy one for each of us srnce We were to select our class rrngs We were also permrtted to hold a brnpo party rnd dance Thrs was our first publrc affalr and rt proved to be successful Durrng the second half of the term we all rejorced over the return of Mr Tolottr our Gym teacher and Mr Ansbach our basketball coach In the latter part OI the year we publrshed the Annu rl Junror Journ rl whrch we entrtled Bee Cee The funds recerved from these actrvrtres were used to finance the Jumor Senror Prom whrch wrs held on May lr rn honor of the Senlor Class Thrs affarr ended our happy and memorable Junror year On September 1546 we returned as Senrors Flrst of all we elected our class offrcers who were to lead us through our most rmportant year Those selected were Presrdent Berdrne Logar Vrce Presrdent James Vtrrght Secretary June Turnbach and Treasurer Rosemary Brshop About a month after school started one of our classmates Guy Lehm rn left to seek adventure rn the Army Srnce thrs wx rs to be the last and most rmportant part of our journey we settled down to work We held several brngo partres dances sold Chrrstmas cards and also produced two plays All of these actrvrtres were very successful because of the fine cooperatron and attendance of the student body and public Our greatest under takrng was that of publr hrng our yearbook The Laurel whrch we dedrcated to Mrss Hart She patrentlv led us through four happy years and we are mdeed grateful to her for her constant gurdance Now as Class Nrght and Commencement approach there 1S a feelrng of both sadness and Joy for soon we are to be Alunnnr of B C T H S After these events we wrll all gather once more for our long aw rrted trrp to Washrngton D C ,-2 1 1 Q, ' 1 , 1 - 1 C' . . 1 1 ' - 1 , , . 2 . - . . . . , . - . 2 1 ' c . . 1. . . 1 H . vv . , , 1 , . . , 15 r f .
