(cont. from p. 26) As Joe sat doing his homework he lifted his head and looked into space. He wondered what gradu- ation would be like. Like high school? That chance you'd been waiting for to put on that black gown and parade in front of all your friends and relatives. Your debut! The speech. “This is the day you’ve all been wait- ing for. And you’ve earned it by lots of hard work. But do not make the mistake of thinking it is all over. For this is only the testing ground. Life is the real test. You are the leaders of tomorrow... ” “With death as graduation” Joe thought. A cleargyman might have said that. But along with the leather diploma, Joe, like many of his fellows, was really looking forward to one thing: The Graduation Bash. At semester time Joe swore one thing: after this year was over, he was gonna hang one on. There he would see all of his friends and enemies. Some he would miss, others he wouldn't. They would all laugh and say Hey you re- member the time in English class when.. Joe laughed to himself and thought after all BJC wasn't so bad. He’d had some pretty good times.
