“Joe: A B.J.C. Student” by Terry Garrity “Joe. Joe Geoorrge. It's time to get up Joe.” Joe groaned, raised his head and looked at his clock. Oooch. 7:30.” He got out of bed, threw his clothes on and stumbled into the bathroom. He came into the kitchen looking somewhat re- freshed. He had to think clearly today, for today he was picking out the classes he would be burdened a whole semester with. He ate a piece of toast and rused out to his car with a schedule in one hand and the last bite of his peanut butter toast in the other. When he made it up to “the hill,” he saw all the other cars in the Armory parking lot. As he walked into the building he pulled his comb out and ran it through his hair thinking it didn’t seem that windy out when he left home. . .. Joe opened one eye to look at the instructor who was babbling away something about inconsistencies of human nature. Now he wished he would have saved the Tom and Jerry's he’d drank the night be- fore—until vacation started. But it seemed tra- ditional to drink them while decorating the tree, (cont. on p. 23) ■
