Ski Club. . .As Usual! As usual, the illustrious Ski Club of BJC made its annual trek to Red Lodge, Montana, for a four-day s o j o u rn of skiing, Ski Trail Inning and Chief Hoteling. As usual, the group re- established its repute as the IN organization at Red Lodge. The skiers successfully ascended and de- scended the Lazy-M, Grog Gulch, Silver Pine Ridge, and Rum Runs without incident or acci- dent, as usual. After establishing their rap- port with the Ski Patrol, it was obvious that there were several classes of skiers. CLASS NO. 1 - THE SKI TRAIL INNERS -- under the astute supervision of Charlie Poe, who kept a tight reign on the group by shout- ing such encouraging phrases as You'd ski a hill? and You got rhythm! His devoted fol- lowers -- Charlie Swenson, Mice (Gladys) Senger, and royal Duke Rosendahl obeyed their commandant by keeping the benches warm and the skins empty. t CLASS NO. 2 - THE ADVANCED SNOW- PLOWERS -- spearheaded by Evelyn (Evie) Bornhoeft and Patty (Muffie) Smith, stalwartly led their band of glassy-eyed skiers -- Nancy Luttrell, Marie Johnson, Tom McMorrow, Tom Ward, and Larry O'Callaghan, along with Alan Control Knoll and Brother Jim Spangler -- down the slopes with the aid of bent poles and broken skis. CLASS NO. 3 - THE SUPER SKIERS (this is the ultimate class) -- with Vernie Peterson in the lead, Bev Brecht, Jerry Sholts, and Bob Wad- dingham followed his example and, with expert control, skiing down the runs, directly into the chalet to Mr. Bina (who was in a class by him- self) for refreshments before challenging the chair lift and the runs again. However, much to their dismay on January 22, the group headed back to the plains of North Dakota and the hallowed halls of Bismarck Junior College. dingham, Vern Peterson and Mr. Bina.
