NURSES Student nurses from St. Alexius Hospital attended several classes at Bismarck Junior College. Anatomy, Physiology, microbiology, pathology, and chemistry were taught by Mr. Eugene and Mr. Van Heuvelan. Other classes, such as nursing arts, nutrition, and sociology, were taught by instructors at the hospital. The three-year training course is made up of different departments, such as Dietetics, Pediatrics, and Operating Room. Sister Mary Catherine and Sister Angele are in charge of the Nursing School. Officers of this year’s class are Lila Graf, president; Lorraine Worle, secretary-treasurer; and Carol Koehler, class reporter. The nurses attending classes at Bismarck Junior College from Bismarck Hospital are taking a preliminary course, involving classes and laboratory work, in anatomy and phys- iology, microbiology, psychology, chemistry, sociology, and Materia Medica I. Instructors are Dean Swenson, Mr. Eugene, -Mr. Van Heuvelan, and Mr. Lee. The nurses have been taking additional courses at the hospital under the direction of Miss Swenson, educational Director. The three- yea r- tra ining course is divided into departments, among which are Operating Room, X-Ray, Pediatrics, Dietetics, and several others. Miss Edna G. Elmore and Miss Florence Sweeny head the School of Nursing.
