The dance floor itself was ringed by building faces taken from that famous street of New Orleans. In a dark corner was a sidewalk cafe with punch to be had for those who thirsted. The festive board, decorated in spring colors with flowers and napkins of many hues, held a complete ham dinner for about 400 teachers and students who attended. Miriam Marmamm from the AC assemblies really did a bang up iob at the first assembly of the year, with her pantomime dances. Seniors holdxtop offices in band. President through treasurer are Bob Boerth, Harold Shattuck, Pat Minnis, and Karen Upgren. School spirit really got going with the election of Karen Agrey, ,Ioan Houstman, Marilyn Keller, Mary Ann Larson and Barbara Staff as cheerleaders. Alternates are Elaine Kreuger and Judy Sul- livan. Hooray! Demons topped Rugby 21-6 in the first win of the sea- son. Twenty five lucky seniors visited various oil companies as Oil- men for a Day. Another tie game as the Demons and Jamestown Blue Jays end with a score of 20-20. The Demons lost a hard fought battle with the Saints by a score of 13-7. Five FFA chapter officers and adviser attended the 27th Annual FFA Convention in Kansas City, Missouri. Playmakers revive the idea of K Cram Sib by presenting a variety show, Showin' Off . The Demons barely managed to win a tussle with the Williston Coyotes by 13-12. Ten girls initiated into FHA. Here they will learn how to please the men in their lives. Ah! Two and a half days of freedom as the teachers attend the NDEA Convention at Fargo. The Orchestra spends its vacation at the teachers convention. What price talent. Bismarck squad is accompanied to Minot by a Pep Club bus only to have the Demons lose, 29-0. Congratulations, Queen Virginia and attendants, Barbara, Mari- lyn, Bonnie, and Paula. You guessed it-our homecoming game ended in a tie with Dickinson, 7-7. Halloween was quiet this year, as most of the students spent the night at the party at school. In honor of United Nations Day, the FHA chapter held a dinner party for the Mandan' chapter. To observe National Education Week three groups of students held radio panels. Ulp! Parents visit teachers at the annual Open House. Choir members test their voices by singing for the Farmers Un- ion. Eight members of the Booster Board attended the Convention of the North Dakota Association of Student Councils in Fargo. Eight area FFA chapters in this district were the guests of the Bismarck chapter. The Bismarck five loses to Rugby 63-SS. Barbara Arneson and Helen Shinn travel to Grand Forks where Helen takes top honors in a state-wide examination of North Dakota history. The concert choir presents three concerts to the largest crowd in its history. The Hi-Herald printed a special issue devoted to soil and water conservation.
