MATHEMATICS E5 SCIENCE Iiwm Huss MILDRED Huis Lucmz ANDERSON 16Cx+yD+zaC3b+cD:? Your guess is as good as ours! How Danny Demon hates to come merrily CDid we say that? Half asleep 'rathe1!j breezing into math class early in the morning only to be shocked into utter wakefulness by a very difhcult equation glaring at him from the blackboard. Ah! What an extreme satisfaction he gets out of working it all by himself! After Mrs. Andere son Qfrom her perch on the deskj, Miss Huff Cwith that 'this is right' lookb, or Mr. Huss Cwith that engaging smilej has explained the problem, it looks like a cinch! The calculatin' calculators of Bismarck High will tell you that although math isn't easy it has its advantages. And also, kidlets, it's supposed to teach you to think. CNOW isn't that somethin'D S 1

SOCIAL S CIE CE l Do you know your government? Well, if you didn't before you landed in either Mr. Lee's or Mr. Nelson's Civics classes, you do now! Danny has confessed that once in a while he's wished that we had a much simpler govern' ment. Then there's Sociology. Are you an idiot? Ctoo?!j What's Miss Evarts got that we haven't got?4The test answers, natch'l Nevertheless we tried! Hmm-wish we had as many dates as history always has! Struggling with the sophomores on second floor is Mrs. Pollard who like Miss Evarts, is really one of our favorites. Summing it all up we have an Afr Social Science department! MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE If you've noticed the tricky test tube twirlers, of which Danny is one, tearing out of chemistry lab even before the bell rings, it is probably due to a horrible assignment such as making hydrogen sulfide. Teaching the juniors and seniors chemistry is the pleasant QD duty of Mr. Anderson Qwith his theory of atoms being boyffriends, etc.j and Mr. Van Heuvelen Cwho also creates college chemistsj. Incidentally, we rate them among the best! Biology, in which we learn to classify those gruesome little crawling things, is taught by Mr. Schrum, Those beastly boneless bugs to be disected may make you a bit squeamish but believe us, when Cand ifj you pass that course, you really know something. lt takes brains to learn physics, Mr. Hool-Us proud pupils inform us. O.K. we agree-only we've heard that aeronautics isn't a snap either. Mr. Eugene, Mr. Nelson, and Mrs. A add to our scienceflearnin' with general science, mostly for Freshies. , CHARLES Hook :en 1
