ART DEPAR TME T RUTH Runsriz From 'iBoogie to Bach was depicted by abstract designs in music, Miss art for art's sake Rudser tells us about one of the high school art projects, A few weeks later they proudly scoffed at a magazine article describing a similar project as being new because to them it seemed old stuff. Another fascinatf ing task for our young Cbut good D artists was drawing pictures using, in each, only one basic color plus variations of this color made by mixing others with it. In addition to classftime learning, these gals gain knowledge of art through ser' vice to B.H.S. Did you notice the beautiful copy of the Christmas seal on the window of the first floor landing during the holidays? This design, an accomplish' ment of the art class, was admired by Danny and the students as well as outsiders. A linoleum block, cut to resemble our service honor roll, enabled the Herald to devote a whole page to our B.H.S. servicemen. For these and many other servicf es such as poster making, we thank the art class and wish them luck as future jon Whitcombs. Eight

MUSIC DEPAR TME CLARION LARSON The school spirit aroused at our athletic games and in assemblies is largely due to the musical talent that is so abundant in the uniformed band. One of Danny's best pals plays a coronet and Danny, playing a clarf inet himself, really thinks the band is super! All B.H.S.'ers certainly admire and envy those slick' uniformed guys and gals. Let's not forget the second band either, for they're working right on up there too. The orchestra plays some of the neatest arrange' ments we've ever heard. So-hats off to Clarion Larson and his students! UNIFORMED BAND Fmsr Row: Page, C, Beattie. Sette, Schwichtenberg, Meisner, Klaudt, Conyne, Kutchera, Hildenhrand, Taft, Lewis, Freise.
