The theme was Music, which was carried out by the decorations on the stage and the queen vote boxes. The ceremony began by the entrance of the former queens. As they came down the aisle it was lined by girls in for- mals, each holding a flowered arch. Among those present for this special feature were: Ruth Davis Ruble, Jean Beard Allison, Norma Shell Devine, Delores Shell Davis, Peggy Moor- man Howard, Betty Pilliard Johnson, Pearl Ruble Welch, Thelma Zaph Denton, Georgia Tinsley Dace, Shirley Jordan, and Mary Lu Wallace. Each retiring queen carried a flower favor. Next to enter was the retiring queen, Miss Elizabeth Wallace, escorted by Mickey Scheihing Elizabeths formal was light blue Following were the seventh and eighth grade attendants, Miss Rosilene Franz, escorted by James Brown and Miss Gloria Shelton, escorted by Wayne McEntire Then the freshman candidate Miss Erma Keay, escorted by Fred Bradley Erma wore a red formal Entering next was Miss Delores Moore escorted by Sydney Bradley Delores' formal was aqua Miss Margaret Beard, senior candidate, escorted by David Lages followed the JUHIOF candidate Margaret's formal was yellow Marquisette Little Judy Vavak and Karen Sue Tinsley then came down the aisle dropping flowers in the path of the new queen And then the exciting moment, when the new queen of 52 53 entered Miss Glenda Van Herck es corted by Jimmy Ruble Glenda wore a blue ballerina length formal under the traditional whlte rebe Lester Ruble and Charlene Asberry carrled the traln of the robe When the new queen was seated on the throne, a group from the glee club sang 'Beautiful Lady' in her honor The climax of the even1ng was the presentation of a sllver coffee servlce to Mlss Ross It was a g1ft from the neople of B1smarck to her as a token of their appreclatlon and affection She has served as a teacher in E1Sm8PCk for almost forty years and she has worked 1n every one of the carnivals thus far Sponsored By GRIQHAM HARDWARE blsmarck, o Z7 O D O e e O e . .
