Sparta a ' A great deal of enthusiasm and interest has been sho-Wn by the girls in basket ball this year. The second Week in October candidates were called out for the team. On account of the large num- ber of girls reporting it was decided to have four teams each represented by a different class and to give the champion team a banner in the spring In Not ember the lirst and second teams were chosen to repre sent the school Requests for games were received from both the Moravian Seminary and from the Mora vian Paiochial School which were accepted but on account of the lateness of the season had to be post poned until spring During the winter months basket ball was entirely suspended and the prevailing sport was coasting in many ways As snow was on the ground continuously for two months the sport was all that could be desired on the hillsides near the grounds, and the daily recreation period seemed much too short to the merry groups Base ball furnished considerable amusement for the players and spectators durmcr the early spring days After the Easter vacation basket ball and tennis were the chief sports J om: Nm ELL clay-' .LL f N' L mrllnlas-is-+ nan'-an--1 Q J A J . . . . r - . . . . . .. l I X l , .1 7 ' , v I I I I U O , I I .
