Listen and I will tell you for naught, How to get out of being caught. VVhen sleeping out of your room at night, Use a dummy-it's a cute sight. To fool our Davy so. First fold the bedclothes neatly back, And then begins the hardest act ' Of getting the pillows arranged just so, Sometimes it's pretty hard you know To fool our Davy so. And now what will we do for hair? Get our small rats from off the chair Let it show just a little bit, It won't look badly with the light not lit, To fool our Davy so. And now behind the do-or we hide, She knocks QPD-and puts her head inside Asleep,-Well bless the little dears- It's such a shame we most shed tears, To fool our Davy so. To other rooms we fast tiptoe, And never dream that she will know, We sleep so long without any warning And we should get back early in the morning To fool our Davy so. For oh! these dummys are a sad sight When you see them in the broad daylight, That's how we are found out with laughter In the cool grey dawn of the morning after. We don't fool Davy so. e VVe're sent for quicker than a streak And told No callers for you this week. Ten demerits-pooh! we never mind Some better way we are sure to find To fool our Davy so.
