SENIOR HISTORY As we the mlghty graduates of the elghth grade worldv wlse and brllhant entered the doors of B U H S greetings such as Where dld all these little squlrts come from? jarred our ears What a shock' Those notorlous sophomores so we thought stopped at nothmg to humlllate us At the end of the week our backs ached our faces smarted and our stomachs rebelled at the thousand and one lnfllctlons lmposed upon us Frlday nlght we were gn en the prnllege of seemg the sophomores 1n therr true lights wonderful hosts at a royal freshman receptlon dance As the year went by we had our fun too' We also sponsored a dance ln our flrst year m Hlgh Then came our sophomore year As powerful sophomores we dreamed up more terrxfymg ways to lmtlate the freshmen Frlday night we gave them a receptlon and permltted them to dress sanely and conduct themselves beflttmg students of B U H S for the fxrst tune that week Later that year we gave another dance The audltorlum was decorated with paper footballs and other decoratlons whlch would come under the football theme Ah yesll Now we are upperclassmenl ' The txme had come for us to put our heads to the grmdstone and show what we could do on the Junior Carmval Smce we llVC ln a farmlng area lt was only natural for us to choose the Farmer Jones theme for our carnly al So on December 17th we presented thls crownmg eyent' From the decoratlve plg pen whlch we had placed ln the middle of the gym tlckets were sold to all that had come to play our booths and have a tr1p or two through the Haunted Barn tFunhouseb After the carnlval closed everyone trouped over to the aud1tor1um where the queen was crowned A chorus llne of farm glrls then gave a llttle tap dance Afterwards dancmg was enjoyed t1l twelve Our advlsors stlll wonder aloud why only a few showed up to clean the gym and audltorlum the next dav llt s sald they were 1n a blg mess confettl paper etc Wlth our treasury full of Junlor Carnlval proflt we staged the Jumor Semor Ball based on a Moonllght and Roses theme A llttle floorshow provlded entertalnment for the guests The banquet oyer we had a wonderful tlme glldlflg around the audltorlum to soft muslc admlrmg the sllhouetted paper losers on the stage and the whlte cottage wlth a rose trellis m the back of the audltorlum As senlors we set about havmg a gala tlme for ourselyes Flrst Happy Sadle Hawkms Day' Many grrls dragged thelr Lll Abners to thls fCStlVC dance We senlors had the audxtorrum decorated wlth blg Jugs a llfe SIZC plcture of Daxsy Mae chasmg Abner pmned on the stage curtams and other slmllar decoration Not manv lads sand Woe IS me' after this dance Eyents passed 1n qulck succession Dltch Day' Old clothes day' And then came the hlghllght of the hugh school years the Junior Senlor Banquet which was gnen to us by the yumors We haye spent some of the best years of our llyes ln dear old B L H S playmg havmg fun and workmg Heres to all you future BU HS graduates Make the most of your school years and enjoy yourselves as we have 9 4 9 .
