Senior Class History ELL. HERE WE ARE. SENIORS. and it hardly seems possible that it was iust four years ago that we entered B. U. H. S. as Freshmen. What a hectic year that wasl After our initiation by the Sophomores. we weren't sure at all that we liked high school. But the Sopho- mores made it up to us that Friday with a reception dance in the auditorium. When we were Sophomores we put to go od use all we had learned at the hands of our initiators and really messed up our underclassmen. Of course we won the Frosh-Soph athletic battles on the football tield by winning both the sack race and the rope pull. Also. during our Sophomore year. the Iuniors asked us to put on a play for the Carni- val. They didn't know what they were getting into when they let us state that play. called Why Teachers Go Nuts. Quite cornyl At last we were upperclassmenl And we really had a wonderful Iunior year. We worked for weeks and weeks on our Iunior Carnival. It was well worth all our trouble, and every- one said it was the best carnival ever. Esther Irwin was our queen. Hardly was our carnival over than we began the Iunior-Senior Banquet and Ball. Both the gym. where the banquet was held. and the auditorium. scene of the ball. were decorated with various shades of orange and brown crepe paper. and Indian motifs. We had the Sophomores provide the entertainment and do the serving. When we returned to school last fall we all realized that this was to be our last year in high school. Already our Freshmen. Sophomore. and Iunior years stood behind us. Thank- ful in the knowledge of the war's end. we looked forward to what was to be a very full term of work and play. First was the Senior play. The Professor Proposes. with a Senior party afterward in the Meander Inn for the members of the cast and their friends. Then came the Senior Ball. decorated with snow and a giant snow man and skiis and ice skates. In Ianuary. the class celebrated Ditch Day by skiing at Magee Creek and later skating at Iune Lake. Also taken along on the trip to help us celebrate were some thirty-odd pounds of sirloin steak. French fried potatoes. French bread, cake. and milk. One line spring moming we held Old Clothes Day. and then zoomed ot! to Whitmore Tubs to spend the rest of the day swimming. Next to come in fast succession will be the Banquet and Ball given to us by the Iuniors. Baccalaureate. the Senior Breakfast. and Commencement: and our Senior year will be past. We will never forget all the good times we have had at B. U. H. S.. or the teachers. or the friends we have made. or the problems we have studied and solved. Indeed we would wish. to the Senior Class to come. all the knowledge we have gained and the fun we have had. to be theirs to experience in full as it was ours. And to our wonderful adviser. Miss Margaret Russell. we owe thanks for making our years here as happy as they are. SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS First Semester Second Semester President ...... Gerald Chance President .....
