Good Defense Returns Manhattan Cup to Timon When you're picked to end up sixth but finish first, you have either completed a spectacular basketball season or the other nine teams withdrew from the league. Whatever their preseason status was this years cagers proved themselves as able qualified ballplayers in any league. Led by All-Catholic Captain Nate Robinson. a 15-3 won- lost record was the coveted prize which was captured by this year's varsity of four juniors and one senior. junior pivotman lim Peterson split the rebounding duties. Iunior Mike Walton shared the lead with Robinson in offensive statistics and was Timon's inspiration when they needed it most. junior Gary Domzalski astounded many with his su- perior ballhandling and accurate passes. Last of the five starters was Iohn Ferrara. His rebounding and his work in close were his outstanding contributions. Tigers were aided to a fine record through the efforts of Tim Fireman Leary whose never-say-die attitude won some close contests. Among the important victories were a Gi-60 win over Neu- mann of Williamsville and the 71-59 clobber of Canisius for the Manhattan Cup.
