TIMON I3-BAKER VICTORY 0 The Tigers posted their fourth consecutive victory by downing their rivals from Lackawanna I3-0. The game, played at Lackawanna Stadium, was slowed considerably by the worst playing conditions encountered all year long. It was a cold rainy night, with the field being a sea of mud. The Green and Gold drove 54 yards the first time they got the ball. The drive featured by the hard running of Murray Regan was completed when he ripped off tackle for 6 yards and the TD. The fired-up Braves from Baker held the Tigers until the 4th quarter when they started another drive. Featured by the expert ball handling of Sophomore quarterback, Jim Stanley, the drive was con- cluded when Murray Regan bolted into the end zone for his second score of the day and his seventh in his last three games. The bright spot of the day was Jim Stanley, who showed promise of good things to come in the future. MANLY LOSERS! l l l l l .4 A I Dick Zasada and .lack Slack open lhe gales but a Baker defender has managed to get in the back door. AQUINAS I9-TIMON 7 Timon journeyed to Aquinas of Rochester for their last game in an attempt to win their fifth victory in a row and avenge a 34-6 loss suffered last year at the hands of the Little Irish . By using sweeping end runs and short tiat passes the Little Irish took a I9-O lead before the Tigers were able to hit paydirt on a Keber to Stallone pass which covered 63 yards. The Tigers had the opportunities but were hindered by fumbles and penalties. The whole starting unit of the Tigers was to be com- mended for their line play. The Tigers. once again showed. as they had all year. that they would not quit. The loss evened the Tigers' season record at 4 wins and 4 losses. Although the season could not be called tre- mendous it could be called a success because of their fine comeback. Congratulations are also in line for head coach. Gene O'Connor. line coach. Jim Gibbons and the rest of the coaching stafi for a job well done.

The Timon Hockey team, under the faithful coaching of.loe Collern and its moderator, Fr. Paschal. completed the 59-60 season with a mediocre but fast improving 8-12-3 record. The carefully chosen sixteen who made the team, with Vinney Shipe as their captain, began practice in Sep- tember at Stamfor, Ontario. They practiced there once a week until Fort Erie's Arena opened in November, where they played most of their games. Since re-entering the league three years ago, this year's team was by far the best. lt started out with a tremendous surge of energy which brought it quickly up to first place, with only five games of the twenty three game schedule played. However, as the season progressed, the inexperience of the team caught up with them as they lost a series of heartbreakers by one and two goals.
