Notable among these were the adoption ofa new Constitution. the eonstruc tion ofa darkroom. the annual snapshot eontest, and an exeursion to Niagara Falls. SCIE CE Assembling a neu' oscilloscope agorrls Science Club members another opportunity for practical experience. ln the familiar surroundings of the Physics Lab, the members of the Science Club with moflcrator, Fr. Patrick, leave their experiments anrl like everyone else are anxious to hare their picture taken. Members of the Roger Bacon Science Club under the guidance of their moderator, Father Patrick NlcGavin, U.F.'NI., have increased their knowledge of science in many fields during 1959. Interesting lectures, experiments and excursions to local industries, have high- lighted the club,s activities helping to instill in Timon students the incentive to develop their scientilic interests and skills. This past year the club did research in the Laws of Physics, with the con- struction of a Van de Graff generator and an electrical computer. The main objective of the club remains constant as it has been in the past-the perfection of its members' skill and research in the scientific manner. The principles of atomic energy are explained to the student hotly by a representatize of A EC from Oak Ridge. Tennessee.

CHESS Under the expert direction of Father David Reddy, 0.F.NI., the popular game of chess is played and encouraged in the Timon Chess Club. The aims of the Club are to encourage the members to play as a competative hobby and mental recreation. This year's club has entered the Queen City Chess League of Western New York and has sent its five forc- most players into competition. As we go to press the Chess 'l'eam has a sea- son record of 6 wins. two ties and no losses. The ever growing Scholarship Club squeezes into crowded quarters stairway to have its picture taken.
