Timon's 1957 Football Tigers completed their second season in the newly formed Msgr. Martin Football League with a gratifying 5-2 third place finish. The Tigers conquests in- cluded victories over Notre Dame of Batavia, Baker-Victory, Ryan, Canisius and Fallon. However the gridders suffered decisive losses to' the Saint Joseph Marauders, Notre Dame Cup Champions, and to the second place finisher, Desales of Lockport. Mike Fitzpatrick and Ralph Fultz were the lone Timonites to at- tain the honor of All-Catholic. Fitzpatrick was the league's leading scorer and ground gainer while Fultz was runnerup in the pass receiving department. Bill Roof, Chuck Fisher and Neil O'Rourke were placed on the second team. The first game of the season' saw the Tigers journey to Rochester, New York and emerge as victors by a 19-0 score over a traditional strong Aquinas team. The contest was being played as a warmup for the seven league encounters to follow. 1- - E' Van Remmen heads for pay dirt in the Canisius rout. 0'Rourke downs Aquinas ball-carrier as Ralph Fultz closes in. Timon defeated Aquinas 19-0 on the Zatter's field.

Saints emerged successful After a scoreless first half the Bengals tallied for three touchdowns in the third quarter. Neil O,Rourke's quarterback sneak, Joe Fit- zimmons' 12 yard plunge and Jim Gainey's end around were the scoring plays. Timon's first league game of the season came easy to the Tigers as they swept to a decisive 39-0 victory over Notre Dame of Batavia. Mike Fitzpatrick was the big gun as the latter had scoring runs of 90, 45 and 10 yards. His 90 yarder came on the opening kickoff of the game. Neil O'Rourke, Ralph Fultz and Joe Fitzimmons also contributed to the scoring. The Tigers notched their second league Win of Fitzsimmons and Guest pave the way for ball carrier Van Remmen ing winning effort over Baker-Victory.
