The Diocese of Buffalo with its thousands of Catholics has spent six of its most progres- sive years under the guiding spirit of its Our BlSHOPS...present and post- present Bishop, the Most Reverend John F. O'Hara, C.S.C. This progress has shown it- self first of all in a spiritual way in the pro- motion of the Faith of Christ. An extensive building program has furthered the material progress of the diocese. Eloquent evidence for this progress is the advance in the diocesan educational program. Bishop O'Hara's zeal for the education of Catholic youth has given rise to new educa- tional institutions with a special emphasis on the High School. Bishop Timon High School was born ol' this zeal. Realizing that a Christian world tomorrow depends on a Christian youth today, His Excellency aims to give Catholic youth the opportunity for the full spiritual development afforded by the Catholic school. Y'Ve at Titnon, who have had t-he blessings and benefits of Bishop O'Hara's zeal, are grateful to him for his fatherly care. The Most Reverend john F. O'Hara, C.S.C., D.D. Bishop of Bugalo WVe note with pride that our School bears the name of the pioneer Bishop of Buffalo, the Most Reverend -Iohn 'l'itnon, CM. To this zealous Vincentian priest lell the task of organizing and firmly establishing the Catho- lic Faith in Wlestern New York. A deep love of his fellow man and a great spiritual vision made his twenty years as Bishop beneficial ones for the Church. His activity in all fields of the apostolate-preaching, teaching, admin- istrating-served as the foundation of a vigor- ous Catholicism that has been the tradition for more than a century.

A WORD T0 THE PRINCIPAL IS to. .. Fr. Claude. .. The Reverend Claude Kean, O.F.M. Principal One of the proudest boasts of the Class of 1951 will be that of having spent our four years at Timon under the guiding hand of Father Claude Kean, O.F.M., the first and present Principal of Bishop Timon High School. The memory of his untiring devotion and paternal direction will be a lasting one. As pioneer Principal of Timon, Father Claude has devoted himself to the progress of the young school. The wealth of 'his past experience in dealing with youth he has spent in helping to build up Timon to its present high level in hve short years-a tribute to his inspiring patient guidance. We will always recall Father Claude's personal interest in all of us. The over- whelming increase in the number of Timon boys has not diminished his personal care of the individual student. Always maintaining that the graduate of the Catholic school should be the Catholic gentleman, Father Claude has supple- mented our formal education with paternal advice which fits that education to practical spiritual living. In appreciation of his efforts, we gratefully dedicate to Father Claude The Talisman of 1951. In so doing, we dedicate ourselves to the principles of Catholic living which he has so diligently taught us. That is our Word to the Principal.
