Pope Pius XII has proclaimed 1954 as the 'Wlarian Yearf' This dedication of a special year to our Lady coincides with the hundredth anniversary of the proclamation of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. Therefore, it seemed to us appropriate and timely to select the Marian Year as our theme. We shall attempt to show that the guiding influence of Our Lady upon all our school activities has inspired us to greater en- deavours in all the actions of our life. It is our serious purpose and ideal to make every year of our life a Marian Yearf' As it was Columbus' prayer. so too will our daily prayer be - ulesus cum Maria Sit nobis in via. 2 THE REVEREND EDWIN ACONIS OF M Conn THF RENEREND CAJETAN WISNIEWSKI OFM Conv iP,N HIC IS WF' 0 FFALO As a trlbute to two fine teachers who no lonver are wrth us at Blshop Ryan Hlgh the Senlor Class of 54 Uratefully clecllcates th1s yearbook to Fr Cajetan WlSHlCXSSkl and to F1 Edwm AUOHIS Thelr work at Ryan Hlgh School has alone much to further the educatlon and character formatlon of the students and now they are gone They wlll not be forvotten however for many years to come by all who knew and respected them 3 in 'E V' ,.lA, , . It is a demoeratie or- ganization that ac-ts as the spokes- man of the young Citizens of the school in the problems. situations and artivities that make up our daily life. It carries on the ideals and traditions of Bishop Ryan High Sehool hy word. aetion and example. Xmong its special projects this year was the direetion of a magazine suhsr-ription Campaign in support of our Year- hook. a campaign that went over the topu with ease. Another project nas a generous helping hand extended to a family in distress lver-ause of a disastrous fire.
