By popular request, Ital- ian l joined the language electives this year. Like Spanish and French, Ital- ian familiarizes students with the language and customs of a foreign na- tion. Having completed the three year requirement in a language, future linguists concentrate on its prac- tical application through fourth-year courses. For the first time several stu- dents participate in inde- pendent study. Gail Lofaro demonstrates her knowledge of Italian geography.
