Varsity Comes Close, But Falls Short Whereas previous varsities relied on mighty hitters and overpowering pitch- ers, this year's team depended on speed and control pitching. Coach Mi- chael Ferrigno expected help from sev- eral sophomores as well as the experi- enced seniors in order to have a suc- cessful spring season. During the past fall season, the var- sity compiled a five and five record. The team started off fast but slowed down near the end due to injuries and poor hitting.
