Along with Iona College, SAC co-sponsored a successful drive for Appalachia. Manual Velazquez, a representative from Salinas, California, in- formed the students of the plight of the migrant worker. April 30, the day entirely devoted to education in Ecology, acted as a springboard to continuous education and involvement in eco- logical activities during the month of Nlay. SAC officers initiated two massive letter writing campaigns for state aid to private schools and for the humane treatment of American prison- ers. The Curriculum Committee solicited new ideas from the student body regarding course offerings for the 1971-1972 school year. Boxes of food, clothing and toys fill trucks bound for Appalachia
