The 7967 Dragon is dedicated to a man. He is Jim Boscacci of Bishop O'Dowd. Here his young manhood began. Here his striving for achieve- ment in mind, in heart, in will, and in body received incentive. Here his circle of friends, acquaintances, admirers grew. Here so many of us have come to love and cherish our friend Bo. What kind of person is he? What kind of man is this, who shared the joys of our senior year from a hospital bed? Who is this schoolmate, whose resplendent qualities not even a paralyzing accident can alter or dim? How hardly can we capture those qualities that make him so much a part of our lives, our prayers, our aspirations? But to know him at all is to find in him an admirable gentleness of manner and a most disarming friendliness. These combine to make him attractive to all, to make all the richer for knowing him. His courage and patience, both in health and illness, reveal a true man. His is a courage to be painstakingly constant in the arena of effort, out of which is born both genius and excellence. Yet with a patience that waits and yearns, a patience that knows success is a matter of inches, of mo- ments, of resigned waiting. Jim, too, is remarkable for his loyalty and reverence. He is loyal to his home, family, school, and companions. Even in his distressing con- finement they are his first thought, his first concern. Reverence, likewise, is a major part of .lim's character. Reverence, not only for the things that pertain to God, but reverence for the opportunities, the chances, even for the present trial, out of which his greatness has emerged. lmperfectly we have described Jim Boscacci. inadequately we honor him by dedicating this small pictorial to him. lnsufficiently we have hast- ened to his aid. But these limitations reveal only our inability to trans- late a man of determination and character into word and act. They do not sound the deepness of our love and affection. But Bo knows and he understands. We dedicate this yearbook to a very dear friend, confident that his insight may read therein our true regard and our prayers that he may soon be with us again. i
