DEDICATION This edition of the Dragon is dedicated with gratitude and affection to SISTER MARGARET CECILE, O.P., who authored the first issue of our Yearbook. Sister's association with Bishop O'Dowd High School was regret- tahly interrupted earlier this year. But she left behind a legacy of devotion, zeal, and leadership, which continues to inspire and direct our best efforts. Sister Margaret Cecile was named the first Superior a year before the work was begun 'cto move a mountain and to establish our school. When O'Dowd opened the following year she remained as Superior. In that capacity she not only displayed an enviable talent for guidance and inspiration of the sisters, but she, likewise, was successful in exciting the students to admirable scholarship, worthwhile initiative, and the development of the spirit that is so characteristic of Bishop O'Dowd. Her ability has left its mark on each group that has known her. We are assured that it will continue to remain as a salutary influence even on those who will never know her. We salute our former Superior and thank her for giving so much of herself to our school. We promise her a fond place in our memories and our prayers that she may continue to serve, so ably and so well, her Lord and those whom He loves so tenderly.
