The library is the center of activity at Noll. Mr. Edward Miller, Mrs. Kathryn Berkowicz, and Sister Naza¬ reth Druminey, C.S.C. assist students with research projects and with the choice of reading materials for personal enrichment and enjoyment. Student library aides, under the direction of Mr. Miller, re¬ ceive a valuable background in library science. The students per¬ form an important service to the faculty by delivering and servic¬ ing materials and equipment from the library Audio-visual center. The aides also deliver materials from the English depart¬ ment’s paperback library which is stored in the library. All of these services in addition to its use as a study center for students and teachers make the library the busiest place in the school.

ENGLISH English is the largest department at Bishop Noll. Under the direction of Mrs. Carolann Biel, a staff of dedicated teachers guides students through courses in basic English and Speech, ad¬ vanced studies, and enrichment programs in writing and literature. In addition to the use of general textbooks, an extensive pa¬ perback library, and a wealth of audio-visual equipment, the de¬ partment also uses excellent movies to complement an exciting program. A progressive attitude in the department is demonstrated by the addition of classes in Modern Drama and Playwriting and Publications and Photography.
