OF THE YEAR In this year’s musical Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King and I, Anna (Mary Vargo), an attractive English widow, arrives in Bangkok, Siam, to be¬ come the governess of the king’s chil¬ dren. The king (Mike Liscinsky) has just received Tuptim (Janet Duhon) as a gift from a foreign king. Although Tup¬ tim is to become one of the king’s wives, she is deeply in love with Lun Tha (Dave Burdelak). And so the tale is entwined with the two themes: Anna and the king, and Tuptim and her lover Lun Tha. Pat Facovelli, Andy Fetsch, Charlie Niblick, Walter Keckich, Terry Mehan, Joe Frechette, Dick Meisterling, the fac¬ ulty’s children, the Choral Club, the orchestra, and numerous dancers rounded out the cast, directed by Sisters Miriam Edward, Christopher Marie, M. Angeline, Mrs. Kubeck, and Mr. De- meduk.

PROGRESS The religious aspect of Noll’s life is evident in two of its annual events: retreat and Baccalau¬ reate Mass. The annual retreat offers us a time each year to turn from our daily responsibilities and devote our attention to the perfection of our spirituality. Just as retreat strengthens us. Baccalaureate reminds us of the new impending responsibility that looms ahead. At their last Mass together, the Senior Class prays individually for themselves and their friends, that they may have guidance in the uncertain, difficult future. Noll prepares its students for life the best way: the spiritual way.
