REMEMBERED Mike Renehan, Julienne Brotko, Ben Gonzalez, Pam Smith It was May 18th and many students eagerly awaited the social highlight of the school year, the Junior-Senior Prom. It was a beautiful night, as if Fate had smiled and commanded Nature to re¬ spond with clear skies and a bright moon. Arriving at St. Thomas More Hall in Munster at 9:00, the juniors and seniors danced to the wonderful music of the Buddy Presner Orchestra. Carrying out the theme of the ball, “A Southern Place,” the juniors had transformed the hall into a beautiful Southern mansion. It was nearly midnight by the time the grand march, led by the king and queen, Ron Kovach and Nancy Calderone, had been completed, but the night was still young. Johnny Valentine, along with an excellent supporting cast, provided enter¬ tainment at Teibel’s until 3:30. It was a night always to be remembered, but one entirely too short. 17

We had no place to assemble for our parade or skit; the Moose Lodge generously donated their grounds. In addition it rained, threatening the skit and postpon¬ ing the game. Despite these circumstances, spirited Nollites managed to carry out traditions and win the game. The same incessant rain caused the Homecoming dance, “Fifth Quarter Fantasy,” to be held before the victory. Reigning over the festivities were John Przy- byl, “Mr. Touchdown,” and the vivacious queen, Bev Wohadlo. 18
