Student Council President Chosen by the entire student body as presi¬ dent of the Student Council, James Carroll has proved he is worthy of this honor. Besides being “scholastically inclined,” James is also one of Noll’s outstanding athletes. He is a mem¬ ber of the National Honor Society and the Monogram Club. James plans to attend Annapolis Military Academy where he will major in engineering. Salutatorian On his trip toward the future, David Pelka has obtained the honor of Class Salutatorian for 1961. David is a member of St. Mary of the Lake parish in Gary. Among his many achieve¬ ments, he has earned the honor to be chosen as the 1961 winner of the Bausch-Lomb award in science. David has also been active in many of our school clubs. He will continue his formal education in California, where he plans to major in chemical engineering.

Senior Class President Joseph Golarz, elected as senior class presi¬ dent of 1960-1961 school term, is a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish in Hess- ville. Among his many activities here at Noll, Joseph has been co-captain of the football varsity team and a member of the basketball and baseball teams. Joseph is a senior well-liked by the entire student body. His leadership on the football field and in the classroom has made his school and his classmates proud of his outstanding achievements. Valedictorian Nancy Bis, a member of St. John Cantius parish in Indiana Harbor, has earned the title of Valedictorian of the Class of 1961. Besides her scholastic achievements, she has partici¬ pated in the activities of many of our clubs; among them are the National Honor Society, the French Club, and the Marquette. Nancy will continue her education at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in Terre Haute, Indiana, where she will major in foreign languages for future work in our government. We are confident that Nancy, as she passes through the doors of the future, will continue in the fine work characteristic of her. 19
