In the beginning of our Junor yeor the Student Council was organized to promote a better relationship between the students and the faculty. Its biggest project was the magazine drive, the proceeds of which were to help beautify the grounds. This year the Student Council, under the able leadership of Bob Austgen, is again doing the best in its power to improve our school. For those in the Choral Club this has truly been an eventful year. Their most important activity was the presentation of the operetta, the Mikado. Now, as we look back at the happy times that we have had, it is not easy to say good-bye to the school where we have spent so much of our time. For during these years we have greatly increased our knowledge and hove gained a small part of the wisdom which we will need in the years before us. It is now our duty when going out into the world to make use of our Catholic education, and by our good example to work for the greater honor and glory of God. VALEDICTORIAN SALUTATORIAN ROBERT AUSTGEN MARILYN AUSTGEN Bob Austgen, a graduate of St. Victor grade school, Calumet City, is to be con¬ gratulated upon receiving the honor of Vale¬ dictorian. Not only was Bob a member of the National Honor Society, Bi-Phy-Chem, Choral Club, and President of the Student Council, but he also participated in football for four years. After graduation, Bob will attend Notre Dame College, Notre Dame, Indiana, where we know he will continue the fine work characteristic of him. Marilyn Austgen, a graduate of St. Joseph grade school, Hammond, has attained the honor of salutatorian as the highest ranking girl of our class. Here at Noll, Marilyn par¬ ticipated in many activities. She was a mem¬ ber of the National Honor Society, Bi-Phy- Chem, Tri-Opus, Quill Scroll, Marquette, and many other school clubs. Marilyn ac¬ cepted the scholarship to St. Mary ' s Col¬ lege, Notre Dame, where she plans to major

SENIOR OFFICERS T. Savio, D. Overack, E. Bennington. Senior History On that fall morning almost four years ago, we all stood around the gym wondering what the future held for us here at Bishop Noll High School. About 9 o ' clock we took our places in the gym where Father Junk told us what was to be expected of us in the future. With four of us sharing a locker, the first year was rather difficult. However, that year also had its gay moments, such as the footb all and basket¬ ball games and the amateur shows. On returning as Sophomores we were glad to find the new building ready for use. It was during our Sophomore year that the National Honor Society was organized. It was also during this year that we had our first try in the literary field with the publication of the MAGNIFICAT. As Juniors we edited the WARRIOR, and finally as Seniors, the MARQUETTE. 14
