( (add J lidton y In September, 1945, the largest class to date enrolled at Catholic Central High School. It was a new and exciting experience for all of us—250 strong . . . but the class of ' 49 was soon in step with the rest of the student body. They contributed members to the Varsity Football and Basketball teams—this was a great joy to our class. But, the most outstanding event of the year was the beginning of our new building—The NOLL OF THE FUTURE. We started our sophomore year with utmost confidence in our ability to keep up our fine record. This year was headed by a new name for the school. It was now called Bishop Noll High School, in honor of the Bishop of Fort Wayne. The Annual Sophomore Dance which was initiated by our class was held early in the year. At the dance, a trophy was presented to the most valu¬ able player on the football team, Richard Hill. As our school grew, so grew our activities. The National Honor Society, Camera Club, and the Student Council were born here at Noll. Our athletic ability was climbing to heights unknown. 1948! Ah! Seniors at last! Our school has grown to be one of the leading schools in the region. It has become necessary for us to have more activities to organize our forces. From these needs grew our Pep Club—the cheering force of Noll. The next club or¬ ganized was the Prop and Publicity Club. The duties of the members are design¬ ing, making, and caring for scenery, taking care of the stage, and making pos¬ ters. The much discussed student council was ready to start work in ' 48. In late November elections were held. In the capable hands of Jerry Adams and her officers rests the future of the council. We all agreed that being a Senior was simply the best thing that could even happen to anyone. Now that June is fast approaching, we suddenly realize that soon we must part. We must say good-bye to Noll and all the things that it has meant to us for four wonderful years. The faculty and students salute Martha Maris as Valedictorian of the Class of ' 49. Martha claims first honors as a member of the National Honor Society. She was also an active participant in the Tri-Opus. Following graduation, Martha plans on entering the College of Saint Francis, Joliet, Illinois. a la ta torian Congratulations are in order for Michael Pavlina upon securing the salutatory honors. Mike was a charter member of the National Honor Society, a class officer in his junior year, and an active member of the Bi-Phy-Chem. Next year Mike will further his education at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. 17
