Her smile greets all in a most friendly manner. Tillie is always willing to help in any way to better her Alma Mater. 9

TOMMY HAWK MEETS OUR PRINCIPAL A friend to all, ready and willing to co-operate with the students is our principal. Father Junk. Always with a million things to do, he still seems to find time to stop and talk with the students. Father Junk was born in Fort Wayne in 1906. He attended Central Catholic and later went to a boarding school. He en¬ tered St. Gregory ' s Seminary and later transferred to Mount Saint Mary ' s in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was ordained in 1933 and was appointed principal of Catholic Central in 1939. Ever since then he has worked hard and long to build a bigger and better Catholic High School in the Calumet Region. Today—because of his tireless efforts, we can really be proud of our school. Although he has twice as many responsibilities as he had before, you will always see him with a pleasant smile, a willing hand, and a cheery greeting for everyone.
