The new assistant directors have dedicated themselves to TBK, and with their help, the regiment has earned an unforgetta- ble name, and an award-winning reputa- tion, throughout Southern California. The squads ' excellence has also been recognized nationwide. They made an appearance at the Superbowl game, and were invited to perform at the 1988 World Expo in Australia and the Macy ' s Thanksgiving Parade in Flew York. This enthusiastic group of kids, led by Brother Bob and Mr. Masters, are involved in many ac- tivities to help this world become a better place to live. Some of their jobs include going to nursing homes, attending Harbor and Pacif- ic View parties, collecting food for the food drives and toys for the toy drives, working at the blood drives, and helping the poor people of the community. In general, these stu- dents are working hard to make people feel loved and to make the community a greater place. 36 « 1 (clockwise from top left): Brother Bob and the gang work on the blood drive. Campus Ministry-a class with true spirit A really special way to learn about and discover your own true self, while at the same time, meeting new people and establishing friendships is to belong to Campus Minis- try. It is a great experience to be able to grow in your own personal faith, build up the community, and become a leader in ministering with other peers. Sr. Paula leads this hard working group of students in their involvement in many school activities. Along uith being just a normal sixth period class, they plan and participate in the ASB masses, and are involved in the preparation of the student retreats. Every year there are three senior retreats , every year they get covered in the yearbool , and every year the same copy is written about them. But what some people fail to realize is that each retreat is a special unique spiritual experience for each individual. It is almost impossible to describe the senior retreat in it ' s truest form. If you went, you know what we ' re talking about, and if you didn ' t you missed out on a truely special experience. .0 .i ' 9 1 . 1? - ' ' p. §• A . ' o ' Underclassmen Unite Traditionally, retreats at Bishop Montgomery have been a special experience for all those who attended, and this year ' s underclassmen retreats were no ex- ception. Through the laughter and tears, students and faculty both felt a real sense of unity. With em- phasis on the themes Hurts and Healings, Lonliness, and Family, the underclassmen were given a chance to know themselves and others better. m i (counterclockwise from left) Pat Smith, Qail Dethloff, Lisa Ritter, Ann Ramirez, Jennifer Lohnson, Sherry Simms.
