Last year was spent breaking in the new band members for their first season. The 1979-80 Bishop Montgomery band, under the direction of Mr. David Potter, is presently preparing to perform in the 1981 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California. They are raising money to buy uniforms by selling placemats, candles, candle holders, and other items. The instruments included in the band are: saxaphoncs (alto and tenor), flutes, clarinets, trombones, tubas, trumpets, and drums (bass, snare, and tenor). The student director for the 1979-80 band was Rick Soriano. The uniform officers were C ' aria Long, Esperanza Salbach, Ish Medrano, and Marjorie Kane. The discipline officers were Karen Diaz, Marcellus Kane, and Ish Medrano. The librarian was Karen Diaz, who was assisted by Lisa Gutierrez. 46 Band

J i tM A Backpacking Club j Eileen O ' Brien, Hank Schneider, Jane Dutro, Tony Televontes, Kim Young, Troy Reed. ■ ' ' Marianne Isak, Ron Bauman, Doug Forsl, Margaret Grove, Mike Cropp, This year ' s ski club has planned some great trips. Venturing from the local areas such as Big Bear, Snow Summit and Holiday Hill to the treacherous slopes of Mammoth Mountain. The originators and plan- ners of these trips are President Carolyn Igancio, Vice Pres. Lisa Mueller, Sec. Cheryl Lynn, and Treasurer Vicki Leach The club moderators are Mr. O ' Brien and Mr. Dan Martinez. The backpacking club has endeavored many treks this year in the ocal hiking areas. The move towards the outdoors has brought many new members to the group. The club moderator is Mr. Picard.
