BRING PRIDE TO M O N T G O M E R Y Montgomery ' s men athletes were lead this year by their president, the one and only- John Mellis (Senior). John, along with the other officers, Kevin Bateman, (Senior) Vice-President, Tom Baaden, (Senior) Secretary, and Eric Classman, (Junior) Finance Committee Chairman, helped bring leadership qualities to the lettermen club. One of the major goals and aspirations of the lettermen club this year was to raise money by putting on a dance and a bake sale, to buy a new victory bell. This is a great achievement that will be remembered for years to come. The Lettermen were busy this year helping as ushers at the Rock The World concert and putting on the intermural basketball games. This year could have never passed without mentioning the support given by the lettermen at the basketball games. A lot of spirit and enthusiasm could be heard from the left side of the homeside bleachers. They helped cheer the team on to victory by performing the ever famous B.M.H.S. cheer. Each member must has participated in one year of a varsity sport or two years of a junior varsity sport. The lettergirls are kept very busy during the year by serving at the Boy ' s Sports Banquets, Father Daughter Night, selling popcorn at football games, sponsoring girls ' basketball tournaments, working at the snack bar during sports events. The major goals of the lettergirls are to create unity, spirit, and organization among the girls athletic program at Bishop Montgomery High School. A.S.B. SERVES YOU The 1979-80 ASB officers came into office this year with a lot of enthusiasm and new ideas. Some major goals set by the officers were to promote and help organize school ac- tivities, and p rovide a student service center thru the activi- ties office. Under the direction of their new moderator, Fr. Richard Loomis, the ASB officers, and twenty-four class officers worked together producing an efficient and well run student government. In preparation for the upcoming year, a workshop took place during the summer. Unique and creative ideas were developed and various activities were in the planning pro- cess. This workshop proved to be beneficial numerous times during the year. The year can well be remembered by the outstanding accomplishments of ASB President, Tim Mc Osker and his officers. Many devoted hours were spent before and after school in preparation for various activities. One major event that was a box office sell out, was the Rock the World concert. This proved to be another successful event that was enjoyed by all as they listened to the perfect impersenations of the Beach Boys, the Rolling Stones, and the Bea ttles. 26 ASB A new tradition was introduced last year by ASB, inter- mural basketball. This year, intermurals offered not only an opportunity for male athletes to compete, but also female athletes. We hope the outstanding participation will contin- ue in the years to come. Such events as Welcome Frosh Dance, Spirit Week, and Homecoming, showed the efforts and dedication of hard working ASB and student council members. The Home- coming festivities were done in an expert manner and our appreciation goes to Tim Mc Osker, Chairman Pat Klein, and his assistant Annette Strickland. With the combined efforts of President Tim Mc Osker and Vice President Eric Classman, the pep rallies were lead with a lot of spirit and unity that showed the true spirit of the Bishop Montgomery Family. An important accomplishment was made this year by ASB. A newly made constitution was adopted. This will surely benefit the future leaders of the Bishop Montgomery. Keeping students well informed through the new marquis and bullitin boards was also an achievement in establishing good communication with the students. Through the com- bined efforts of the administration, student council, and the student body, the year of 1979-80 proved to be a very successful one.
