The Knights Experienced That Special Knight 1. Homecoming Queen Theresa Trevino stands belwcen two of her favorites, Tom Hardesty and Father Kidney. 2. Tlie junior float was the winner of the float contest, which showed the class of ' 81 has talent. 3. Jim Miller, Quarterback, scrambles to the left looking down for an open Knight. The Homecoming pep rally was Ihe climax of the spirit week. During this each class showed their spirit by wearing their class colors, decorating the school, and having a fund raiser during lunch time. The newcomers, the freshmen, did very well in showing their spirit, along with the three upper classes as well. The spirit contest points were close at the beginning of the pep rally with the junior class in the lead. During the pep rally each class showed their spirit. The senior class, having shown the most spirit was awarded the spirit trophy by Fr. Loomis and the ASB officers. This was the first time the senior class had won the trophy and they were estatic. There was also an award given to the junior class officers for their good leadership of their class throughout the week. Just minutes prior to this. Coach Norton explained that the only good Swordsmen is a ... His feelings expressed those of the whole student body as they yelled and cheered. The princes.scs of the Homecoming court were announced as everyone held their breath. As the time passed and darkness fell upon us, it was time once again for the traditional Homecoming game. The special game was kicked off by the spectacular Homecoming parade. The color guards, the drill team, the four class floats, and the lovely princesses in the old fashioned cars, cleared the cleared the track for the knights to enter onto the field. Halftime ceremonies conducted by our Homecoming Chairman Pat Klein, included the announcement of the winner of the float contest. The junior class took the trophy with ease. Their victorious entry of That Golden Knight was displayed by a rainbow and a pot of gold, two lephechauns, and a golden knight, was admired and loved by all. Another halftime activity was the breath-taking moment of the coronation of a new Homecoming queen. Last year ' s Homecoming queen Jane Aki, graciously gave up her crown to a deserving Theresa Trevino. Theresa was very happy and was congratulated by the other four princesses and friends who were also happy for her. St. Paul did manage to walk away with the game, the final score being 7-13, but they certainly didn ' t lower our spirit, enthusiasm, or morale, which was evident throughout the season.
