Clubs Unite Students Through Interest The accumulation of clubs throughout the year brought together students sharing common interests. This year two new organi- zations were available. The beginning of the guitar group as a steady part of the all-school masses was initiated during the fall. Mr. John Gregory played and sang with the group. Another first at Miege was the beginning of an Interscholastic Volleyball team. Thir- teen girls played area high school teams in active competition. Mrs. Patricia Shipley moderated the team and coached them in volleyball procedure. Miss Mary Evelyn Pretz's Knitting, Cook- ing and Sewing club enabled eighteen mem- bers to enhance their homemaking skills. Miege's Canoe club was again active. The ten boys enjoyed float trips that provided them with mini-vacations. Mr. Gary Lam- mers was the club's moderator and Jim Hendricks served as president. Le Cercle Francais, alias the French club, met this year during activity time to plan a summer trip to Canada. Mr. William J. Reardon and his senior group met during lunch to discuss topics of general interest involving both students and faculty.
