l promised you a little quiz today . . .20 points, multiple guess. . .a storehouse of knowledge behind an expression of infinite patience . . . repeating over and over to headless students the equations covered a few weeks ago in lg .... always the same unhurried voice .... king of the airtrack . . .at home with anything from a telescope to an oscilloscope .... up at 4am to catch a glimpse of lVlars .... rousing a sleepy senior with a question .... beginnings of a slow smile .... tugging at his face .... slipping through the masses at a dance, headphones and all to note the band's decibel level .... hopping with impatient enthusiasm as students fumble along with a pet experiment. . . vector programs still available .... the alarm clock .... thoroughly dedicated .... constantly busy . . . never too busy . . . . we dedicate the 1973 Mustang to father victor dvorsky and brother peter vukmanic

DEDICA TIO shirt covered with the chalk dust of battles against endless formulas and equations .... blackboard always filled with writing . . . if ya don't do the homework, it'll show up at test time .... 25 minutes, covered two blackboards and the problem still doesn't match the book answer . . . uhhh, father, 435 x 8 equals 3480, not 3620 .... open book tests, but no substitute for knowledge. . .the noble experiment for advanced placement calculus. . .still worthwhile . . .transforming mathematical jargon into plain english . . .the black briefcase with the jam-packed schedule taped to the side .... any one of about 6 text books coming out of that briefcase .... quietly watching a basketball game, approval or disgust evident in his expression... .hearing a bull story, recognizing it, and still acquiesclng .... to give a man a second chance .... always available .... students flocked around his desk, books in hand, after class ......... understanding ....

FAC LTY Arriving early . . . starting a day which could last ten hours . . . facing mountains of books . . . correcting tomes of papers . . . staring at seas of faces . . . unique individuals. . . incorporating the skills of knowledge into exciting lessons knowing that the students understand proctoring Study Halls calling roll every fifteen minutes . . . laughing . . .giving . . .suggesting . . .confident . . . personal . . . real. Preparing a syllabus . . . reviewing work . . . secretly granting extensions . . . forgetting how to run the A-V equipment . . . cleverly splicing broken films. . . coming up with interesting classes. . . focusing on the mind . . . not forgetting the material needs . . . always there to assist . . . offering . . . helping . . . approving . . . screaming that the Study Hall isa place of quiet study . . . spotting jeans way down at the other end of the hall . . . passing by students . . . somehow touching each in a special way . . . laughing at private jokes . . . sometimes joining in on a student prank . . . accepting papers on the last day of the quarter . .-. receiving tons of last minute work . . . always smiling. . .sometimes smiling. . . never smiling? One can always count on . . . a friendly smile . . . a helping hand . . .an encouraging word . . . more than a teacher . . a real person . . . true person . . . a friend.
