In the tradition of all good news- papers, the Stampede has exhibited a sensitive feel for what ' s happen- ing. By renaming the paper, the staff has definately given it a new outlook regarding school life. This outlook is one of facing the issue. With Brother Harry Pratt, C.S.C. moderator, acting merely as super- visor, the staff is freer than ever to project true student opinion. Now that articles are being sub- mitted by the student body at large, the purpose of the paper as a stu- dent mode of expression has taken on new meaning for student and faculty members alike. Anybody got a caption for this picture? ' Editors: (L TO R) SITTING: C. Schweinhart, Brother Harry Pratt. C.S.C, D. Early. M. Kinder. STANDING: M. Bloomer. T. Miller. E. Grysavage. 18 A real down to earth group!

One. two, three . . . ve vill make da date!!! This year marks the second publica- tion of the MUSTANG. Last year ' s staff worked diligently, made mistakes, gained experience, had fun and enjoyed a tre- mendous success. The same could be true of this year. Learning from the past and picking-up at the level of quality attained last June, the yearbook staff struck out to explore new horizons. Under the gen- eralship of Jim Jenkins and Mike Fowler the staff made significant gains in its journalistic aspirations. The hard work of George Carter and Sam Schiattareggia was outstanding but typical. Photo- graghy, vital to any yearbook, was ably handeled by Pete Holland and others. The value of the supervision of Mr. Rash, moderator, was priceless. We toiled, stumbled, learned, enjoyed ourselves and hoped for the best. This book of mem- ories is the testament to the faith that the staff held throughout the year. Headhunters, Creativity minus Vie flim-flam can. photogenic hams, special fickled band. 19
