The theme of the 19 5 6 MITRE is THE CHRIS- TIAN LIFE IS A GREAT ADVENTURE. In our yearbook, We conceive of adventure from its characteristics of wonder, imagination, chal- lenge, enthusiasm, and achievement. The divi- ders of each section interpret these aspects in the light of Christian living. But Christian living can never be fully under- stood apart from the unchanging teachings of the Catholic Church. Divine in origin, these teachings give us the security We need to bring both light and truth to a bewildered World, to spread Christ's message of charity fearlessly, and at times heroically, to nations torn by hatred, suspicion, and injustice. It is from the Church that we Catholic students derive the energy to rise above what might be a mediocre existence to achieve the life that Christ envis- ioned When He said: I am come that they may have life, and have it more abundantlyf' No one can deny the adventure in a life such as this.
