A DEFINITE CONTENDER THE BIGGEST, STRONGEST, AND QUICK- EST, WINNEST THE MOSTEST. According to this philosophy Manogue ' s 1981 baseball team could definitely be a contender for the AA crown. This year ' s team includes seven Seniors, four Juniors, one Sophomore, and two Freshmen. One question remains! Can we defeat Elko, who is the defending State Champion, in Elko? 68 VARSITY BASEBALL

In the field events high jumper Paul McElroy, who also participates in the hurdles, and long jumper Steve Martin have been doing a fine job. Presently the boys have had dual meet wins against Sparks, Smith Valley, and Lovelock. They have also been very competitive in their invitational meets which were against all AA schools. Though we are still in the middle of the season we expect great things from our bo ys at the AA State Competition. GIRLS TRY FOR THIRD TITLE The 1981 Girls ' Track Team is again looking forward to securing a third consecutive AA State Championship. As we work for the AA State crown, we look to the strength of our returning letter women Paula Senini, who holds the state record in the 440, and school records in the 220, 100, and high jump, and Theresa Des- mond, Maureen Glenn, Paula Senini, and Missy Sullivan, who hold the state record in the 880 medly. We look to our strength in the field with the present school record holder in the shot and dis- cus, Sara Bodensteiner. We are proud of our new and upcoming freshman Jackie Cavilia, a two miler, and depth in the 14 mile with returning second fastest state 14 miler Missy Sullivan and freshman Linda Moreno.
