I must be cruel if I am to be kind. By the time you are a Senior almost everyone has had Mr. Garcia for some class. Even though his classes are a lot of work, when you ' re finished, (if you ' ve tried at all), you can say you learned something. Mr. Garcia is dedi- cated to the education of his students, this is evident in his classes. It isn ' t hard to make a class fun or easy but it is hard to get the students to learn. This is what he does and through his challenges you can become a good student. For these reasons and many more, we the Class of 1981, dedicate this Crosier to you, Mr. Garcia, for your dedication to us. 24 DEDICATION

PHOTOGRAPHS AND MEMORIES Manogue ' s Senior Class of 1981 entered this school at a time when many changes were being made. New uniforms, school policies, teachers and organizations made their debut with the Class of ' 81. We have grown along with the school. As Manogue has helped shape us into the people we are, so have we left our mark on Manogue. In our Freshman year we elected our first class officers. They were: John Jaure- guito, President; Colleen Lannom, Vice President; Kathleen Glenn, Secretary; Skippy Luckadoo, Treasurer; and Brian Sandoval, Sergeant-at-Arms. As Sophomores, we were led by Brian Sandoval, President; Maureen Lan- nom, Vice-President; Heidi Seevers, Treasurer; Colleen Lannom, Secretary; and Skip Luckadoo, Sergeant-at-Arms. This same year saw a tremendous upswing in girl ' s athletics. We cheered for our girls ' track, tennis, and cross country teams and watched them all place first at State! As Juniors, our class put on the prom and elected Nadene Jay our Prom Queen. Our class officers this year were: Judi Anxo, President; The Lannom twins Maureen and Colleen, Vice-President and Treasurer; Lisa Allen, Secretary; and John Jaureguito, Sergeant-at-Arms. The Miners took State in football our Junior year with a 10-0 record. Albie Peroddy, Robbie Kane, and Omar Alami were some of our outstanding players named to the All-State team. The fantastic Junior bonfire skit was 1 that Homecoming! As Juniors the girls had another great year in sports. The track team took state for the second consecutive year with some help from Sara Bodensteiner who broke the school shot put record and Paula Senini and Heidi Seevers who led the record breaking 440 relay team. In our Senior year both the boys ' and the girls ' cross country teams took State. The girls ' basketball team had their most successful season ever, led by seniors Stacey Ting, Paula Senini, and Sara Bodensteiner. The student body officers of 80-81 were: Brian Sandoval, President; Heidi Seevers, Vice-President; Kathleen Glenn, Secretary; and Steve Leonhard, Treasurer. Senior class officers were: Colleen Lannom, President; Judi Anxo, Vice President; Stacey Ting, Secretary; Lisa Allen, Treasurer; and Sara Bo- densteiner, Sergeant-at-Arms. We crowned Veronica Barnum homecoming queen and Robbie Kane home- coming king. We made it through English IV. We did everything for the last time. During the four years we ' ve spent together our lives have been rearranged. As we look at the photographs and relive old memories, we ask ourselves, have things really changed? 23
