But Friars came back to win decisive victories over Mesquite and N. Mesquite and to re- reive a third place trophy in the K, C, tourney. Hopes for a district championship were lost after 3 opening round losses. In their last 3 games the team played superb basketball by soundly defeating Nolan, edging out Jesuit, and beating the future state champs, Dunne, to finish second in district.
