As a token of gratitude for his deep and abiding interest in us, we, the students of Bishop Luers, dedicate this first yearbook to our Chief Pastor. But in doing so, we fondly hope that our deeper dedi- cation will be to the ideal he has set for us,--that we will, indeed, grow into full citizenship in two worlds. That, we feel, is the kind of dedication Bishop Pursley would like the most because that is the kind of pastor he so truly is. DEDICATION Bishop Luers High School has been shaped by many hands. First conceived in the mind of Bishop Pursley, it took form through the united efforts of the total Catholic Community of Fort Wayne. Since then, it has been patiently molded by a dedicated faculty. But this high school also has a spirit, a soul. The man most responsible for putting it there is the first and present Principal, Father Edmund Moore. What effort must go into such an undertaking, we can only guess, --the long hours, the problems, the patience, the pains of birth. It is a hard job to strike the spark of life. But the spark has been struck through the unsung and unrewarded dedication of one man . . . FR. EDMUND MOORE, O.F.M. OUR PRINCIPAL DEDICATED FACULTY FR. CON AN TAYLOR, O.F.M. Our platform, be sophisticated . Never loud or dissipated, Showing juniors how to do it, Making them conform or rue it. Top class is what the juniors are. But having class is best by far. JUNIORS Young in mind and young in heart. We pioneered right from the start. First freshmen, sophomores, juniors too, (And often ending in a stew) We found the hard way how to win: Up Blind-alleys, back again. But now the course is nearly run, ' Twas getting there was half the fun. FRESHMEN The school was going when we came. We didn ' t have to make its name. But full of young inanity. We majored in insanity. School was bright as it could be. The world was fresh and so were we. This much is sure, we ' re on our way, First class is not a place to stay. m9 JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS: from the left, Dan Brodrick, Pres- Thomas Alt Donald Anweiler sident; Mike Burns, Vice President; Jim Snyder, Secretary- Diane Albright Michael Bail Treasurer.
