ywfbzzll is Vie Starting from scratch with entirely new men on the squad the Bishop Kenny Crusaders had a fairly successful season. Coaches Brown and Lanahan were turning out what appeared to be the best team on the Conference, until one by one the boys were forced out because of serious accidents. However, due to the expert coaching of Dave Brown and John Lanahan, we managed to end the season with a five-five record. BILLY BETROS Halfback Billy played superb ball ln his senior year He always seemed to get that first down for you when you needed It Several times he was mentioned for back of the week thus proving that he was one of the CIIYS better backs TOMMY CRABTREE End Guard Playing mostly on the defense Tommy alter nated at end and guard He soon became one of the most dependable players on the team He was always making the tackle that counted Along with this Tommy was a good team leader BUDDY PACE Hal fback Buddy, who was injured at the beginning of the season, came hack and won a first string defensive position. Not until the last game of the season was Buddy given his chance to carry the ball, and he came through in mag- nificent fashion. Buddy gave a splendid ex- ample of how to get back up when you're down.
