SisTer Mary, a missionary, of The Order of The Good Shepherd, had been senT To Los Angeles .by Bishop Kip, LiTTle is known abouT her excepT ThaT she came from Canada. lT is her unT1r1ng devotion To The work she was called To ThaT is remembered. This declicaTion and enThusiasm Tor her liTTle hospiTal soon broughT her supporT and assisTance from The local churchwomen and in l887, abouT Two years aTTer iTs sTarT, The insTiTuTion was in- corporated aT ST.
